Kids Christmas Gift Ideas
Well, Halloween is officially over, and before we know it Christmas will be here! That means thinking about kids Christmas gift ideas. I truly love this time of year! I like to take this time to remind myself of all the blessings in my life that I am thankful for and to remember why we celebrate Christmas. Jesus is definitely the reason for the season and the greatest gift of all. I hope this season and always you take some time to slow down and give thanks for our Savior.

The Five Love Languages:
I am not sure if you have ever read this book The Five Love Languages but if you haven’t it’s definitely a great read. It’s great for learning how others receive love or even eye-opening to what your own love language is. One of my love languages is receiving gifts. Now it’s not because I just love being smothered with material possessions. I just love that someone takes the time to think about me and thinks I would really like an item. I feel they purchase that item to simply bring me joy and show me, love. It surely doesn’t need to cost a lot. It could be the simplest thing like buying a pop at the grocery store and bringing it home for me. I am easy to please. It’s that thought of thinking about me when you aren’t even with me.
Anyways, the book talks about the language that we speak is generally the easiest for us to act out as well to others because that is how WE feel loved. But your husband, mom or best friend may not perceive that as love because it’s not the love language they speak. So it’s about figuring out how to show them love in the language they speak. It’s really fascinating.
You ask what does that have to do with kids Christmas gift ideas? It means I love to give gifts to others and I feel that has something to do with how I perceive love through receiving gifts. I love finding that perfect gift for them and I love watching their reaction and joy. So this season for me is also a season of giving to others.
Shopping For Ages 2-3
Last year for Christmas we got my daughter the Fisher-Price Bright Beats Dance and Move BeatBo. This toy has been such a hit with my daughter as well as my two older boys aged 4 & 7 and still being played with a year later. She also got the LeapFrog Musical Tea Set. She likes to pour tea all the time and we have tea parties often. It makes real pouring sounds that she loves. This dress-up doll set will be added to her list this year. I talked about this doll set in this post also.
I also want to get her this VTech Baby Amaze 3-in-1 Care & Learn Stroller. This stroller/walker looks amazing! I know many kids this age are past the learning to walk stage but this one toy has many options to use it for besides learning to walk. What little two-year-old or three-year-old wouldn’t like a baby stroller that turns into a high chair too? I like toys that do many things. I think this toy will be a great motivator in helping her walk, plus she is starting to really like baby dolls.
Shopping For Ages 4-5
My four-year-old would love the Hot Wheels Criss Cross Crash Track Set even my seven-year-old would love playing with that! Can anyone say yay for siblings playing nicely together?! A mom can dream, right? I am also really considering a Crazy Fort. My son is constantly, I mean constantly building forts all over the place. He will pile ALL of the toys on top of one another to make a fort. The problem with that is he can’t always get inside of the fort then. The Crazy fort could be my solution.
Last year we got my son the VTech Record and Learn KidiStudio since he LOVES to sing and it has been greatly loved. This year I am thinking about the Karaoke Machine for Kids with 2 Microphones + Lights. I really like that there are two microphones so the kids can sing together. The boys always like to perform musical shows for us, so this microphone will be a great addition to their band.
Shopping For Ages 6-7
This age is probably my hardest to shop for, and my oldest has such an opinion about what he wants and doesn’t want. In the previous years, he has requested Legos. This year he pretty much eats and sleeps Pokemon. Did you see his birthday cake in this post? The first thing I thought I would get him was Pokémon Clip ‘N’ Carry Poké Ball Belt. This was actually an item he already asked for, so I know he will like it. I also thought getting him 9-Pocket Pokemon Full-View Pro Binder: Pikachu Album would be a good idea to keep all of his Pokemon cards all in one place. I also would like to get him a science experiment kit. He loves testing things and making things happen. There are so many fun looking ones but I thought the Crystal Growing Experiment looked pretty fun, and something he would enjoy. He might also get a video game.
Fun For All:
We really like to play different games including board games as a family so I like to add to our collection of games at Christmas time as well. My husband and I are fans of Clue, but it’s a little too old for them still. When I saw Clue Junior Board Game where you have to find the missing cake I thought it would be perfect! I also thought the kids would like a Target Toss .
My daughter likes to join us playing games as well, and playing Uno is one of her favorites. She is always looking and asking for the yellow cards. Finding games that we can include her in sometimes is hard but I am always on the lookout for her. We tried playing with the Melissa & Doug Crab Toss & Grip Game the other day at therapy and she loved these little things. Plus she can play with velcro for hours so I thought they would be nice to play ball with her. It’s something she can do with us or the boys since she always wants to play baseball with us when we are playing. We also like to get the kids all books too.
Time To Shop!
I hope this gives you some kids Christmas gift ideas for your little ones. I always enjoy reading others post their ideas, it has helped me make decisions for what to buy my kids, and I hope I can help you in that way as well. It’s so fun to pick out gifts for our kids. Just remember to also share with your kiddos the real reason we celebrate the season!
Have you started your shopping yet? Are any of these items a hit with your kids? What suggestions of gifts would you add to the list? Thanks for reading and please remember to share this post!!
