Fall Family Fun For Everyone!
I love this time of year because it’s time for fall family fun for everyone! Fall is in the air! There is just something about fall. The kids are back in school, the temperature is cooler, the leaves start to change color. I love pulling the jeans back out and wearing a light jacket or sweatshirt. It’s a nice time to turn off the air conditioner and leave the windows open. Just listening to the sounds coming in the window is relaxing. Sitting outside is pleasant because the bugs aren’t as bad and sitting beside a nice fire takes the chill away. The air is crisp and pleasant to the senses. If you couldn’t tell I absolutely love fall.
Fall is for fun!
There are so many fun fall family activities to do in the fall. There are festivals galore, apples & pumpkins to pick, orchards to visit, hay to sit on in a wagon, football games to watch, and leaves to jump into.[clickToTweet tweet=”There are many fun family activities to do in fall.” quote=”Fall is a time for festivals galore, apples & pumpkins to pick, football games to watch & leaves to jump into.” theme=”style3″]
I love to visit a pumpkin farm or drink freshly made cider. Even though hay rides are itchy and uncomfortable they truly do remind you of fall. We can’t forget getting lost in a corn maze! It’s very easy to do and some mazes pride themselves in getting you lost! How fun is that?! Try taking a road trip or hike through the woods and not be taken back by the beauty all around. There are beautiful displays of color that surround you and leave you breathless. Leaves changing colors is simply beautiful and something I look forward to every year.
I may not be a huge football fan, but fall does mean football season. Add a blanket and a comfy sweatshirt, and I can tolerate a few games for the sake of fall. Fall means sitting by a fire and roasting marshmallows. Yum! Fall is just a great time for being outside because the weather is just right!
Fall is for festivals & food:
Ah, festivals! All kinds of fall family fun things happen at festivals. Music, food, beer, games, did I mention food? We all know that Starbucks starts selling their pumpkin spice latte and everyone looks forward to that. Well, there are festivals that add pumpkin to everything, and seriously pumpkin doughnuts are the best! I also like the festivals that have the barrel train rides for kids or the big pools full of corn kernels as a sensory play activity with bulldozers and trucks. We have also gone to a festival that had one of those huge jumping pillows. One may also find a petting farm at one of these fun festivals. I also love the arts and crafts of fall and seem to be able to find some nicely crafted decorations.
It’s nice having kids so that I have an excuse to play along with them. Fall family fun definitely brings out the big kid in me. The decorations are my favorite and who doesn’t like decorating for the fall? I have always enjoyed decorating for fall with the variety of reds, oranges, yellows and browns.
F is for fall:
I am realizing that a lot of words that remind us of fall start with the letter F. That’s interesting, huh? Fall is for the family. Some of my favorite memories with my family growing up and with my kids now is raking leaf piles and jumping into them. Turning a chore of raking leaves becomes fun for the whole family. Then there is Halloween right around the corner and haunted houses. It’s fun to pick out a pumpkin and carve a silly face on it while getting slimed by the pumpkin guts. The reward though is baking those yummy pumpkin seeds. Fall is for planning a Halloween costume to wear. In the years past I have had fun making costumes for my kids and taking them trick or treating. Trick or treating can definitely be added to our list of fall family fun.
Yes, fall is pretty fantastic. Yes in my opinion probably the best season of all. It’s a time for family and giving thanks for all the blessings in our lives. No, I don’t like that everything starts to die and become bare or that winter is right around the corner. But for the season I enjoy every minute of it and soak up every ounce of fun I can get before old man winter pokes his head in. I hope you all enjoy this fall season just as much as I know I will! Now I think after all this food talk I need to go get something to eat!
